| In June 2009, Lance Patterson formed Patterson Real Estate Advisory Group LLC (PREAG) to focus both on providing capital formation and advisory services to third party clients and on the acquisition of office and hotel properties. For the four years ending May 2009, Lance Patterson was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Barry Real Estate Companies, where he was responsible for the company's capital market activities and company administration. While at Barry, Lance was responsible for the financing and acquisition of over $1.0 billion of transactions, including the mixed-use Allen Plaza project in the north part of Downtown Atlanta (to date including the $70 mm Southern Company office building, the $90 mm Ernst & Young office building, the $170 mm W Atlanta Hotel and Residences and acquisition of all or parts of six other city blocks), the $545 mm acquisition of the Central Perimeter office portfolio from Equity Office Properties and the sale of over $250 mm of properties from this portfolio, and the financing of the $172 mm Pinnacle office building in downtown Nashville.
Previously, Lance was Chief Operating Officer of First Fidelity Mortgage Corporation, where he spent 12 years as an intermediary providing capital market services for commercial real estate clients throughout the southeastern United States. During his period at First Fidelity, he was responsible for the financing and/or sale of over 100 transactions, with a value in excess of several billion dollars. Product types included office, regional malls, major hotels, multi-family and industrial. Prior to his employment at First Fidelity, Lance spent most of his career in the commercial real estate finance areas of two different commercial banks, with the exception of a period in the early 1990's where Lance lived and worked in Germany as a Fellow of the Robert Bosch Institute. During his career, Lance has had responsibility for arranging financing or concluding investment sales on virtually all types of commercial real estate, with project sizes ranging from several million dollars to over $500 million.
Lance is originally from Missouri, where he received undergraduate degrees from the University of Missouri in both Finance and in German, and a Masters of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. Lance is a past Chair of the Urban Land Institute's Atlanta District Council and is a member of the ULI Atlanta Executive Committee, and was previously chair of ULI's Urban Development-Mixed Use Commercial Silver Council. He has been married to Susan for over 20 years and has three children.
